Ron Shanor of Wildewood Furniture’s large walnut China cabinet hutch is all at once traditional, western, and rustic with its wealth of hand-carved details and outstanding dedication to quality craftsmanship. The gentle arc over each cabinet door is finished with hand-carved details to provide texture and depth to the smooth walnut. The header and footer, while reminiscent of traditional or classical craftsmanship, is hand-carved to lend an air of western whimsy. Adjustable glass shelving with copper accents is accessed through glass doors that open with hand-cut and sanded Antler drawer pulls. Remote control color changing LED lighting is mounted in the top of the hutch to enhance your china or collectibles, while the drawers and cabinets below comfortably stash anything from table linens to serve-ware.
Ron lives in Cody, WY, the heart of the western design movement. With his home only fifty eight miles east of Yellowstone National Park, the natural beauty of his surroundings offers a wellspring of inspiration which is reflected in his work. Each piece of furniture is unique and carefully hand-crafted using lodgepole pine, aspen, and burl. Ron spends part of his summer selecting and gathering just the right pieces of wood for projects that will be built during the winter months.
