Brian Crandall

Brian’s life journey is a testament to the power of passion and precise craftsmanship. Though originally trained as a geologist, his deep love for horses quickly took the reins. For over 20 years, he has worked as a dedicated farrier, expertly shoeing a wide array of horse breeds across many disciplines. Beyond his farrier work, Brian has also made his mark in the show ring, personally breeding, training, and showing his own horses in reining and working cowhorse, earning multiple national awards. His commitment to the equestrian community is further cemented as the founder and president of the Colorado Plateau Horseman’s Hall of Fame.

This lifelong dedication to understanding equine anatomy—specifically the passion for sculpting hooves to best suit a horse’s conformation and needs—naturally led him to metal artistry. For over a decade, Brian has channeled this expertise into forging functional and decorative metalworks. He approaches every piece with the same attention to detail he gave a horse’s hoof, resulting in beautiful, flowing works of art. Brian specializes in creating unique, one-of-a-kind pieces and encourages clients to collaborate, allowing him to forge custom works with a personal flare that fits their specific vision and size.
