2019 By Western Hands™ Invitational Design Exhibition
By Western Hands (BWH) is pleased to announce its annual participation in the Rendezvous Royale festivities in Cody, WY during the week of September 16-21, 2019. BWH will host an Invitational Design Exhibition in the newly completed design center at 1007 12th Street in Cody, WY. A variety of additional educational programs including BWH artisan-lead workshops will be offered during the week-long celebration of western art.
The BWH Invitational Design Exhibition will feature one-of-a-kind pieces of western functional art made by members of the By Western Hands artists’ guild. Pieces entered into the exhibition will not have been shown anywhere previously, and will be unique to this exhibition.
The BWH Invitational Design Exhibition will be open daily during the run of Rendezvous Royale from 10:00am to 5:00pm. Complimentary shuttle service to and from the Buffalo Bill Art Show and Sale will be offered on Thursday through Saturday.
Master artisans from BWH will offer a variety of workshops during the week of Rendezvous Royale. John Gallis of Norseman Designs West will lead a two-day Molesworth-inspired medicine/curio cabinet workshop at his studio in Cody. Glenn Gilmore will bring his mobile forge to the BWH Design Center to lead a hand-forged wall-hook workshop.
Additional opportunities to explore the world of western craft and design include Sawdust, Saddles, and Sips, a luxury tour of BWH artisans’ workshops. Guests will ride through Cody and Powell in a stretch limousine, sip champagne, tour, and discuss the incredible skill of artists Scott Armstrong of Arrowleaf Designs, John Gallis of Norseman Designs West, Lester Santos of Santos Fine Furniture, and Keith Seidel of Seidel’s Saddlery. Finally, BWH will host Chase Reynolds Ewald, an author known for her romantic stories of western interiors and rich photographs of sumptuous spaces. Ewald will share the highlights of her newest publication, Cabin Style with a book-signing to follow.
8:30 AM – 4:00 PM By Western Hands – Molesworth-style medicine/curio cabinet workshop with John Gallis -Day one. Gallis, an award-winning woodworker with over 40 years experience, will guide you through a custom furniture build using a fresh perspective on western furniture. The two-day class features instruction, materials, and lunch at Norsemen Designs West. Cost $775, limited to 8 participants. Reservations required.

9:00 AM – 1:00 PM By Western Hands – Hand-forged wall coat hooks workshop with Glenn Gilmore at the By Western Hands Design Center. Cost $100, limited to 6 participants. Reservations required
Thursday, September 19
2:00 PM – 6:00 PM By Western Hands – Sawdust, Saddles, and Sips. Take a ride through the workshops of Arrowleaf Designs, Norseman Designs West, Santos Fine Furniture, and Seidel’s Saddlery in a stretch limousine. Reservation fee includes champagne, snacks, luxury transportation to and from By Western Hands and to each workshop along the way. Cost $150 per person, up to 10 participants. Reservations required.
Friday, September 20
3:00 PM – 4:00 PM By Western Hands – Cabin Style conversation and book-signing with Chase Reynolds Ewald at the Coe Auditorium in the Buffalo Bill Center of the West. Book will be available for purchase in advance at By Western Hands. Cost $20 per person, limited to 160 participants. Reservations required.
