Horsehair Pottery

Join us September 17–19 for a special opportunity to create a one-of-a-kind keepsake with artisan Sharon Widmer. Sharon will be in the gallery beginning at 2:00 p.m. each day, sharing her unique horsehair pottery process.

A variety of pottery shapes and sizes will be available for purchase. Guests are invited to bring a lock of their own horse’s hair to be fired into the pottery, creating a beautiful and lasting tribute to a cherished companion. For best results, please bring long strands of hair, please bring enough horsehair to equal approximately the thickness of a pencil when bundled together. Other types of hair or feathers are welcome and can also be incorporated into the pottery, though they will create a different appearance.

Sharon will demonstrate the process, making it a memorable and personal experience.
